Sarnia-Lambton Year End Stats

 

Well here we are well into the first month of the New Year. I am sure there are many people out there that are thinking of selling their home this spring. I will ad some tips in my next post on how to prepare your home for sale. For know I want to go over the final stats for homes sold in the Sarnia-Lambton area.

The total number of properties that sold in the Sarnia-Lambton area for 2010 was 1,633

This is up only 1% over the previous year (2009). It shows that the real estate market in this area is very consistent and stable.

The total dollar volume of properties sold was $300,063,896.

That number is also up by 2% over the previous year. Again this is showing us that the real estate market in the Sarnia-Lambton area have been very stable and consistent over the last couple of years.

Now, you might be thinking to yourself….What price range is the most active….Let me show you. The top five price ranges are:

1.     $100,000 to $149,999 with 451 properties sold

2.     $150,000 to $199,999 with 352 properties sold

3.     Under $100,000 with 297 properties sold

4.     $200,000 to $249,999 with 213 properties sold

5.     $250,000 to $299,999 with 128 properties sold.

Properties between $300,000 and $349,999 had 67 sales and $350,000 to $399,999 had 59 sales.

All indications show that the real estate market in our area is going to be strong again this year. Interest rates are going to remain low for now and our local economy is still good.
